Fractional carbon dioxide (CO2) laser technology has revolutionized laser skin resurfacing treatments. Known for delivering remarkable, age-defying results, CO2 laser treatment effectively addresses a range of challenging skin imperfections, including wrinkles, fine lines, photodamage, uneven skin tone, and skin laxity, as well as scar treatment, and acne. As a long-standing provider of aesthetic laser procedures in Dubai, Champs-Elysées Aesthetic Medical Center is proud to introduce a system that not only meets but exceeds our patients’ needs.
Harnessing the power of the CO2 laser, a combination of ablative and thermal effects, and an array of applicators and treatment modes tailored for precision, fractional laser introduces unparalleled precision and innovation to the field of dermatology and plastic surgery. In contrast to traditional ablative laser resurfacing, which removes the entire top layer of skin, CO2 employs a fractional delivery method that creates pixel-sized perforations in the skin, leaving the surrounding tissue unharmed. This preservation of intact skin surrounding the perforations accelerates the healing process. During the healing phase, accelerated re-epithelization, new collagen generation, tissue regeneration, and the contraction of existing fibers occur. The most significant advantage of this procedure is its permanence. Once the healing process is complete, the skin you’re left with is your new skin.
The fractional CO2 laser can effectively treat a wide range of skin concerns across the entire body, making it beneficial for patients dealing with various skin damage and aesthetic imperfections.
While CO2 fractional techniques have made significant advancements, the importance of having a specialist perform the treatment cannot be overstated. These techniques demand experience and a skilled hand to achieve the best results. The specialists at Champs-Elysées Aesthetic Medical Center have dedicated their practice to staying up-to-date with the latest knowledge and techniques.
Fractional CO2 laser skin resurfacing is performed on-site and involves several pre-treatment steps:
The treatment typically lasts about 60 minutes, with variations depending on the treated area(s). Prior to treatment, a numbing cream is applied. The fractional laser is then administered section by section. Following treatment, your treated areas are covered with wraps and antibacterial ointment. An optional post-laser mask may also be applied to expedite the recovery process.
Immediately after treatment, your skin may appear red, resembling a minor sunburn, which can last from 2 to 48 hours, depending on the treatment type. You may also experience mild swelling or skin flaking. Post-treatment skincare will be discussed during your consultation, and a post-care treatment sheet will be provided on the day of treatment. Virtually all skin types tolerate the procedure, and discomfort is minimal.
In most cases, any side effects will resolve within a maximum of two weeks. After your treated areas have fully healed, you may use makeup to reduce skin redness, opting for oil-free cosmetics. It’s crucial to apply SPF 50 sunscreen following any laser skin resurfacing treatment and avoid prolonged sun exposure for at least two weeks or longer.
Fractional CO2 yields smoother, tighter skin with improved texture after just one session, thanks to its ability to trigger a biological response leading to collagen remodeling. During your initial consultation, our physician will create a customized treatment plan for optimal enhancement. To achieve significant results, we recommend 3-6 treatment sessions, spaced 4-6 weeks apart. For severe scars, six courses are recommended.
